Congratulations to Kylie Sterk Scholarship Recipient from the 2012 Iowa-Illinois Regional Auto Show

Kylie Sterk, daughter of Brent and Kelly Sterk, has been awarded a scholarship by the Iowa-Illinois Regional Auto Show Association in the amount of $3000. Kylie is a senior at Clinton High School.  Kylie was introduced at the Iowa-Illinois Regional Auto Show on February 9th as one of the winners of this year’s scholarships. Proceeds from the annual event go into a scholarship fund. This year, over $30,000 was awarded to nine students.

To be an eligible candidate for an Auto Show college scholarship applicant must be a current senior level high school student must have worked or had a parent or guardian work within the last year at a new car dealership.  The dealership must be located within the Iowa Illinois Regional Auto Show market area.  Kylie’s father Brent is a longtime employee of McEleney Chevrolet Buick GMC Toyota in Clinton Iowa.  He is employed as a technician for the McEleney ABRA Auto Body & Glass facility which is a division of the dealership.

The Iowa-Illinois Regional Auto Show is a joint effort from auto dealers in 17 regional counties. It was held at the Davenport River Center and sponsored by Motor Trend Sports Auto Shows. The scholarship fund is managed by the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend. To date the Auto Show has given over $205,000 to college bound and trade school bound students.
